Angels

Before going to my brother and sister in law's for Christmas today, I went to the cemetary. I told the boys I was going to do this and Andrew said he couldn't jump that high....

what?

Jump that high to see Grammy in heaven.

Then he said he wouldn't recognize her.

Well, she would look the same...like the pictures we have.

No, she would look different with her wings.

Break
my
heart..............

a funny story

My kids were just watched Frosty and Crystal....

it made me remember when I watched Frosty the Snowman when I was growing up. It was when we were in Litchfield so I am guessing I was around 9-11 years old. I finished watching Frosty and I was so upset that he 'melted'.....my mom said we were never going to watch that show again.

It makes me laugh even now.

My Dad

We had my niece's 3rd bday party yesterday (happy bday, Miss Rowan!!!). It was very fun and she is so dang cute. We were playing dolls together.

While we were there, my dad and I were sitting talking and he asks me...'is that your mother's ring?' What's funny about this is that he asks me this EVERY time I see him. (In case you don't know, my dad gave me my mom's engagement ring 6 years ago at Christmas time and I wear it every day I wear my wedding rings). I said yes it was; I think he loves to look at it and admire his diamond picking out ability. Anyway I think it's nice, sweet and cute.

Although he said it was dirty this time. haha! So right now they are all soaking in cleaning solution! haha, have a great Sunday!

Mom Memories

Korey told me the other day that as he was driving by a cemetary that Andrew asked if they were going to go visit Grammy.
13 years my mom has been gone but it is nice to hear that my Andrew will talk about his Grammy the Angel.

I told him today that it is Grammy's birthday. He said "How do angels eat cake and open presents?" He asks when he will get to see her and when she is coming back sometimes but mostly he likes to look at all the beautiful crafts that she made me that we have around the house.

Sending you all our love, Mom, today on your birthday.

Mom's Day

Andrew made me a bag of goodies at school....a sheet that told all about me, a flower, a picture of me. It was very sweet. Who knew my favorite food was 'carrots'. haha!

I hope all the moms had a very nice day! Korey made me waffles which I love. Then we went to Lowe's for gardening supplies. Korey and the boys bought me a very pretty aquamarine necklace that I love. Then we went to Millo's in Barrington for supper (new place, very nice inside and good pizza). And finally we had cake! Andrew asked when I saw Grampy....he thinks that Grampy is the only person that buys cakes. Cute! He also kept wishing me a Happy Mother's Day all day. Nice!

No pics again...

Boy I need to download some new pics.

Thought this was a sweet story....
I tell Andrew about his Grammy (my mom) and the other day we were talking about how she is an angel.

He told Korey while I was in NC that Grammy is an angel but he wanted to know how we could get her to be a person again instead.

My sweet boy.

Dancing with the Stars

Here is the list for who will be on this season.
http://perezhilton.com/2008-02-18-and-the-contestants-are#more-14358

I wasnt at all excited; Priscilla Presley will be okay--I am sure then her daughter will be in the audience but that is the only one I really *knew*....but then I got to the end!

I LOVE Kristi Yamaguchi! I can't wait to see her. I remember telling my mom I thought Kristi was the 'all-american girl' when she was ice skating. I hope she has her kids in the audience!!! I bet they are cutie pies!

I win the mean mom award....

I had been talking up storytime with AJ for a few days...that he was going to be a big boy and go in himself. He was excited and he knew he got library books and lunch with Nana as his reward if there were no tears.

Well, the bell rung for storytime to begin and he became a cling-on to my leg and wouldn't go in. After I went in with him and tried to coax him into sitting by himself, I said we are leaving! No books! No lunch with Nana!

And I totally meant it.

We left the books behind and he cried. We got into the van and called Korey to tell him the sad news.

But then....

suddenly....

as we were ready to pull the van into the garage, AJ said 'I WANT TO GO'

So we drove back and he went back to the class and ran right in. He did GREAT!!! He sat thru the stories, made melting snowmen with their bodies and then made a snowman craft.

He loved it ... and we checked out our books and got to have lunch with Nana!

I will hang my award by the mean wife award I won!

Our Today

We went to see my dad today and we stopped by his 'real' house (we visited at the condo mostly). The apples are growing as you can see. Seeing the apples grow each year is special for me...my mom had said we moved from our house in Litchfield 'right as the apples were going to grow' (it takes the trees a few years to ramp up)...and then my parents had put the next house on the market again 'as the apples were going to grow'....I know that disappointed her. They ended up not selling and then she passed away. So when I see the beautiful apple trees growing their apples in our yard (even if they arent that tasty), it reminds me of her.... and it is wonderful that AJ and Grampy can pick the apples and I hope she is looking down on them smiling.
