to be honest....

Found this on the internet this morning......A happy day: Abby Sunderland, the 16-year-old Southern California sailor whose around-the-world solo voyage began in January and who on Thursday was missing and believed lost, has been found – safe and well – in the southern Indian Ocean. Her yacht, "Wild Eyes," was spotted by an aerial search team aboard a Qantas Airbus A330 search plane midway between Australia and Africa.

Going to be honest with ya....what kind of fool-ass parents let their kid, their BABY go on a SOLO voyage around the world? Let's see at 16yo, I was JUST allowed to go on dates with a boy and had to be home at 10pm at the latest. I didn't even have my licence nor was it on my radar screen.

I am happy the girl has been found and I hope she makes it home safely. I just find it a bit crazy...

I was wondering the same thing, Lorraine... who lets a 16 year old sail around the world? Apparently her brother set a record - the youngest person to sail solo around the world. Me? I had a 10 or 11pm curfew at 16.
